The Hitachi DH 20DV is a 24V cordless hammer drill designed for drilling in concrete, steel, and wood. It features variable speed control and two main operation modes: Rotation + Striking and Rotation only. Always charge the battery fully before first use and ensure the battery is inserted correctly into the charger.
Battery and Charging
To remove the battery, turn the unit upside down, pull the slide lever, and pull the battery out. To install, insert the battery until it clicks. When charging, connect the charger to a power outlet and insert the battery. The pilot lamp indicates the status: red blinking means charging, red solid means charging, and green solid indicates the battery temperature is too high for charging.

Operation
Mounting the drill bit: Pull the grip in the direction of the arrow, insert the SDS-plus drill bit as far as it will go, and release the grip to secure it.

Mode Selection: Use the change lever to align the mark with the desired mode. Select the 'Rotation + Striking' mode for concrete drilling or 'Rotation only' for steel or wood.
Switch Operation: The rotational speed is controlled by the trigger switch; pull slightly for low speed and further for higher speed.
Maintenance
Regularly inspect all mounting screws and tighten if loose. Keep the tool clean by wiping with a soft, dry cloth or soapy water. Do not use solvents. Store the tool in a dry place below 40°C. If the tool is used continuously, allow it to cool for approximately 15 minutes to prevent motor damage.
