Quick Guide
The Hoftronic T8 LED Tube Eco Nano 160LM.W is designed as a retrofit replacement for linear fluorescent lamps. It supports three installation scenarios depending on your existing fixture configuration. Important: This product is not compatible with electronic ballasts. If your fixture uses an electronic ballast, it must be removed from the circuit.
Safety Instructions
- Qualified Installation: Must be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with local electrical regulations.
- Indoor Use Only: Not applicable for outdoor use.
- No Electronic Ballasts: Do not use with electronic ballasts.
- No Dimmers: This lamp cannot be used with dimmers.
- Emergency Lighting: Not suitable for emergency luminaires designed for double-capped fluorescent lamps unless explicitly approved.
- Modification Warning: If the ballast is removed or bypassed, the luminaire must be permanently marked: "Luminaire modified for LED tube use only. Do not install fluorescent lamps."
Installation Methods
Before starting, ensure the power is completely disconnected.
Standard Installation (Direct Mains)
Connect the LED tube directly to 230V mains voltage. The existing ballast must be removed or correctly bypassed.
Retrofit Magnetic Ballast
Remove the existing fluorescent starter and replace it with the supplied LED starter. The magnetic ballast remains in the circuit.
Retrofit Electronic Ballast
The ballast must be removed from the circuit entirely. This modification should only be performed by a trained and certified electrician.
Usage and Maintenance
- Maintenance: Perform all maintenance only when the power is cut off and the product has cooled down.
- Cleaning: Clean only with soft, dry cloths. Do not use chemical detergents.
- Environment: Do not use in unfavourable conditions (dust, water, moisture, vibrations, explosive atmospheres, or chemical fumes).
- Disposal: This product requires selective collection of waste electronic and electrical equipment. Do not dispose of with household waste.

Common problems
Lamp does not light up after installation
Verify if the fixture uses an electronic ballast (not compatible) or if the wiring bypass was performed incorrectly.
Flickering or failure
Ensure the LED starter is used for magnetic ballast setups or that the ballast is completely removed/bypassed for direct mains.
Before use
- Verify the fixture type (magnetic vs electronic ballast).
- Ensure power is completely disconnected before starting.
- Check if the LED starter is included and required for your specific setup.
- Confirm the voltage matches 220-240V AC.
- Ensure the luminaire is marked as modified if the ballast was removed.
