Quick guide from the manual

This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of the Bosch GSR 140-LI and GSB 140-LI cordless drill/drivers. Always ensure the battery is removed before performing any maintenance or tool changes to prevent accidental startup.

Device description

The tool is designed for driving and loosening screws, as well as drilling in wood, metal, ceramic, and plastic. The GSB models are additionally equipped for impact drilling in brick, masonry, and stone.

Assembly

The battery is supplied partially charged. Charge it fully in the recommended charger before first use. To remove the battery, press the unlocking button and pull the battery forward. To insert, push the battery into the handle until it engages.

Operation

The rotational direction switch allows you to change the rotation direction. Use the torque preselection ring to set the required torque in 20 steps. The gear selector can be used to switch between low speed (1st gear) for large drilling diameters and high speed (2nd gear) for small drilling diameters.

Maintenance and cleaning

Keep the tool and ventilation slots clean for safe operation. Check the carbon brushes every 2–3 months and replace both if necessary. Use only original Bosch carbon brushes.

Safety

Always wear ear protection when impact drilling. Hold the tool by insulated gripping surfaces when performing operations where the cutting accessory or fastener may contact hidden wiring. If the tool jams, switch it off immediately to avoid high reaction torque.

Technical data

The tool features Electronic Cell Protection (ECP) to protect the Li-ion battery against deep discharge. In case of overload or overheating, the tool switches off automatically.
