Table of contents

Product Overview

The Husqvarna PE 10H and PE 10H SmartGuard are personal protective equipment (PPE) systems designed for construction work. The PE 10H combines a helmet, hearing protection, and a visor. The PE 10H SmartGuard model additionally includes a chin guard specifically designed for use with power cutters. These systems are engineered to absorb impact from falling objects and reduce the risk of lacerations during specific kickback events.

Safety Information

Warning: No PPE can offer full protection against injury. Users must read, understand, and follow all instructions provided in this manual. The chin guard must always be used in conjunction with the specified visor and hearing protection to function as intended. The visor must be folded down during operation. Do not use the product if it has been subjected to contamination, alteration, or misuse. Regularly inspect the equipment for damage, such as cracks or scratches, and replace it if necessary. The helmet should be replaced if it has been involved in an accident, even if no damage is visible. Do not use the product for longer than 5 years from the production date.

Assembly and Adjustment

For the helmet to provide intended protection, it must be properly adjusted to the user's head. Use the knob to adjust the neck strap for a tight fit. The suspension can be adjusted to two different heights at the front and rear. Ensure all six connection points are correctly installed. Earmuffs should be moved to the lowest position and then lifted until they lock in the standby position before being attached to the helmet slots. The chin guard and visor frame can be attached or removed using the provided clips.

Operation

Before use, perform a daily check of the product. To put earmuffs in operation position, place the helmet on your head and adjust the muffs until they are tight against your head and ears. To put the visor in operation position, ensure it is clean and undamaged, then lower it to its end position. The helmet features a color indicator to show its maximum service life; replace the helmet when the indicator loses its color.

Maintenance and Disposal

Clean the product regularly using a cloth with water and mild soap. Do not use solvents or alcohol-based cleaners. Replace worn or damaged sealing rings and foam inserts of the hearing protection at least every 6 months. Replace the visor if it is scratched or damaged. Dispose of the product according to national regulations and local recycling systems.
