Product Overview
The MAUL Mailbag Square is a precision digital scale designed for accurate weighing. It features a user-friendly interface with tare functionality, multiple unit options, and user-calibration capabilities to ensure long-term accuracy.
Getting Started
- Battery Installation: The scale uses a CR2032 battery. Open the compartment on the base, remove the protective insulation film, and insert the battery observing correct polarity.
- Placement: Always place the scale on a flat, horizontal surface to ensure accurate readings.
Operation
- Weighing: Press the ON/OFF/TARE button to turn the scale on. Wait for the display to show zero before placing items on the weighing surface.
- Tare Function: To weigh items in a container, place the empty container on the scale and press ON/OFF/TARE to reset the display to zero. You can then add the contents, and the scale will display only the net weight.
- Unit Conversion: With the scale turned on, press the Unit button to cycle through available weighing units (g, lb/oz, oz, ml).
- Switching Off: Press and hold the ON/OFF/TARE button until the display turns off. The scale features an automatic shut-off after approximately one minute of inactivity.
Calibration
If necessary, the scale can be recalibrated by the user. With the scale off and empty, press and hold the ON/OFF/TARE and Unit buttons simultaneously until a number appears. Press ON/OFF/TARE again. When ZERO appears, place a 5kg calibration weight on the scale and press ON/OFF/TARE. The display will show CAL, then PASS, and finally 5000g, indicating successful calibration. Avoid vibrations or drafts during this process.
Safety and Maintenance
- Overload: If the weight exceeds the maximum capacity, the display will show EEEE. Remove the weight immediately to prevent damage.
- Battery Replacement: If the battery symbol appears on the display, replace the CR2032 battery.
- Environmental Factors: Extreme electromagnetic interference may affect readings. The scale is not intended for legal-for-trade applications.
- Disposal: Do not dispose of the scale or batteries in household waste. Use designated electronic waste collection facilities.
