Product Overview
The MAUL Pocket Scale II is a high-precision digital scale designed for accurate weight measurement. It features multiple weighing units (g, oz, gn, ct), a counting function, and user-calibration capabilities to ensure long-term accuracy.
Getting Started
- Battery Installation: Insert two AAA batteries into the compartment on the base, ensuring correct polarity.
- Setup: Place the scale on a flat, horizontal surface. Due to its high sensitivity, environmental factors like gravity and temperature can affect results; user calibration is recommended before first use and at least annually.
- Power: Use the ON/OFF button to power the device. It features an automatic shut-off after approximately 1 minute of inactivity.
Operation
- Weighing: Power on, wait for the display to show 0.0, then place the item on the scale.
- Tare Function: Place an empty container on the scale and press Z/T to reset to zero. Add the item to be weighed to see only the net weight.
- Unit Selection: Press the MODE button to cycle through available weight units (g, oz, gn, ct).
- Counting Mode: Place a reference quantity on the scale, press C until it flashes, select the reference number (25, 50, 75, or 100) using the MODE button, and confirm by pressing C again.
Calibration
If the scale requires recalibration, power it on and set it to 'g'. Hold the MODE button until 'CAL' appears. Press MODE again; when 'CAL' and '200.0' flash, place a 200g calibration weight on the scale. 'PASS' will appear when calibration is successful. Important: Ensure the scale is free from vibrations and drafts during this process.
Troubleshooting
- O-Ld: Overload; the weight exceeds the scale's maximum capacity.
- Lo: Batteries are exhausted and need replacement.
- OUT 2: Faulty calibration; perform the user calibration procedure as described.
Safety and Maintenance
The device is sensitive to extreme electromagnetic interference (e.g., radio transmitters nearby). If interference occurs, the scale may provide inaccurate readings; it will return to normal operation once the interference ceases. This scale is not intended for legal-for-trade applications.
Disposal
Do not dispose of this product with unsorted household waste. It must be collected separately as electronic waste at designated facilities. Consult your local municipal administration for disposal options.
