Overview of the Miyota 0S10 Movement

The Miyota 0S10 is a high-precision chronograph watch movement designed for reliability and ease of use. It features a center chronograph second hand capable of measuring time with 1/1 second accuracy, with a total capacity of up to 11 hours, 59 minutes, and 59 seconds. The movement includes a date display and a small second hand for standard timekeeping.

Setting the Time and Date

To set the time, pull the crown out to the second position. Rotate the crown to adjust the hour and minute hands to the desired time. Once set, push the crown back to the normal position to start the small second hand. To set the date, pull the crown out to the first position and turn it counter-clockwise. Please note that if the date is adjusted between 9:00 PM and 1:00 AM, the date may not change correctly on the following day. Always return the crown to the normal position after adjustments.

Using the Chronograph Function

The chronograph function allows for precise timing. Press button A to start or stop the measurement. Pressing button B while the chronograph is stopped will reset the chronograph hands to their zero positions. The chronograph second hand will continue to run for up to 11 hours, 59 minutes, and 59 seconds before stopping.

Chronograph Reset Procedure

If the chronograph hands do not return to the zero position after a reset, or following a battery replacement, a manual calibration is required. Pull the crown out to the second position. Press button A repeatedly or hold it down to advance the chronograph second hand until it reaches the zero position. Once aligned, push the crown back to the normal position. Do not push the crown back while the hand is still moving, as the current position will be incorrectly recognized as the new zero point.

Chronograph hands do not return to zero

Perform the manual reset procedure by pulling the crown to the 2nd position and using button A to align the hands.

Date does not change correctly

Avoid setting the date between 9:00 PM and 1:00 AM, as the mechanism is already engaged in the automatic date change process.

Before use

  • Ensure the crown is pushed fully into the normal position for standard operation.
  • Verify the battery is fresh if the chronograph hands behave erratically.
  • Check that the chronograph is stopped before attempting a reset.
