The R. STAHL SolConeX 8570/12 series is an explosion-proof plug designed for use in hazardous areas (Zones 1, 2, 21, and 22). This document provides essential instructions for safe installation, operation, and maintenance.

Installation and Assembly
Follow these steps for proper cable connection:

- Loosen the screw connection and remove the dust cap.
- Remove the compression ring and sealing ring.
- Loosen the housing screws and remove the plug housing.
- Pass the cable through the screw connection, compression ring, and seal.
- Insert the cable into the terminals and tighten. Ensure the insulation is stripped correctly.
- Reassemble the housing and tighten the screw connection.
Tightening Torques:
- Terminals: 1.2 Nm
- Housing screws: 1.0 Nm
- Strain relief: 1.5 Nm
Operation
The plug is compatible with various R. STAHL sockets, including 8570/11, 8572/13, 8570/15, 8570/18, 8572/15, 8572/14, 8570/16, and 8570/51. Ensure the plug is free from water and dust before insertion. The bayonet ring must be fully tightened to maintain the IP rating.
Maintenance and Cleaning

- Lubrication: After 1000 mating cycles, clean the pins and apply a suitable lubricant (e.g., Klübersynth PTB 2-24). Do not use mineral oil-based lubricants.
