The Russell Hobbs 10968S is a 10-12 cup coffee maker with a digital timer. Before using it for the first time, wash the carafe, lid, and filter holder in warm soapy water, then rinse the machine by running a full cycle with water only (no coffee). Always use fresh, cold water in the reservoir. The machine uses standard #4 cone-shaped paper filters or a permanent nylon filter.

Operating the coffee maker
Place the unit on a flat, level, heat-resistant surface. To brew coffee:

- Open the water tank lid and fill with cold water using the carafe. Do not exceed the 'max' level.
- Swing the filter basket out, insert a #4 cone filter, and add medium-ground coffee (suggested: two rounded teaspoons per cup).
- Swing the basket back into place.
- Ensure the carafe is correctly positioned on the hotplate to push up the non-drip valve.
- For immediate brewing, press the power button.
- To use the timer: Press 'h' and 'min' buttons to set the clock (pm light indicates afternoon). Set the timer using the same buttons while holding the power button, then press the auto button to activate.
Pause and pour feature
You can remove the carafe to pour coffee at any time during the brewing cycle. The non-drip valve will prevent dripping. To avoid overflowing, you must replace the carafe on the hotplate within 25 seconds.
Cleaning and maintenance
Always unplug the machine and allow it to cool completely before cleaning. Do not immerse the base in water or use a dishwasher for any parts. Wash the carafe, lid, and filter holder in warm soapy water. Wipe the exterior and hotplate with a damp cloth. Descale the machine regularly to prevent scale build-up, which can cause the element to overheat and the machine to cut out early.
Service and warranty
This appliance is not user-serviceable. If the unit is not working, ensure you have followed the instructions and that the plug/socket are functional. If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or an authorized service agent. For warranty claims, return the unit to an approved Tedelex Trading (PTY) Limited Service Centre with proof of purchase.
