Before First Use

Before using the machine for the first time, follow these steps:

• Unpack the coffee maker and remove all protective packaging.
• Wash the carafe, lid, and filter holder in warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
• Wipe the exterior of the machine with a clean, damp cloth.
• Perform a rinse cycle: Fill the reservoir to the 'max' mark with cold water and run the machine without coffee. Discard the water after the cycle completes.

Operating Instructions

1. Place the coffee maker on a flat, level surface.
2. Ensure the power switch is in the 'O' (OFF) position and plug the unit into a power socket.
3. Open the top lid and insert the permanent filter or a paper filter (#4) into the filter holder.
4. Add ground coffee to the filter. A suggested starting point is two rounded teaspoons per cup, though this can be adjusted to taste. Do not overfill.
5. Fill the glass carafe with cold water to the desired level and pour it into the water reservoir.
6. Place the carafe with the lid on the warming plate.
7. Switch the unit to the 'I' (ON) position. The indicator light will glow.
8. Once brewing is complete, the machine will automatically switch to 'keep warm' mode.
9. Switch the unit to 'O' (OFF) when finished and unplug it.

Care and Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity of your coffee maker:

• Cleaning: Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool before cleaning. Never immerse the unit in water. Clean the carafe and filter holder in warm, soapy water.
• Descaling: Descale the machine every 3-4 months depending on water hardness and usage frequency. Use a mixture of half water and half vinegar, or a commercial descaling agent suitable for coffee makers. Run the cycle without coffee, then repeat three times with clean, cold water to rinse.
• Storage: Store in a clean, dry place. Never wrap the power cord around the appliance.

Troubleshooting

• Verify that the power supply is active.
