This guide provides instructions for the inside mount installation of the SelectBlinds Palladian Shelf. Before beginning, ensure you have the necessary tools: a measuring tape, a pencil, and a drill or screwdriver. Verify that your kit includes the mounting blocks, mounting screws, and safety screws.
Installation
Follow these steps to install your shelf:
- Measure: Identify the flat part on each side of the window, just below where the frame starts to curve.
- Marking: Measure 3/4 inch below the flat part and make a mark. Ensure this line is level.
- Screw Placement: Mark the location for the first screw 1 1/4 inches back from the front of the window opening. Make a second mark 1 1/2 inches back from the first mark.
- Mounting: Predrill your holes at the marked locations. Mount the mounting block to the wall.
- Securing: Slide the shelf onto the mounted blocks. Secure the shelf by installing the safety screws on the underside through the predrilled holes to prevent the shelf from sliding off.
Important notes
- Parallel Alignment: It is critical that the mounting blocks are installed parallel to each other to ensure the shelf fits properly.
- Mounting Type: These instructions are specifically for an inside mount configuration.
