The Sygonix 10-Year Smoke Detector is designed to provide early warning of smoke development in private residential and sleeping areas. It operates on the scattered light principle, detecting even the smallest smoke particles that enter its housing. With its low power consumption, the device offers a battery life of up to 10 years, ensuring long-term reliability and safety.

Safety Information

Important: Failure to follow these instructions may void the warranty and lead to property damage or personal injury. The device is not a toy and must be kept out of reach of children. Do not paint or cover the detector, and avoid installing it in environments with combustible gases, vapors, or dust, as this poses an explosion risk. The device should not be exposed to extreme temperatures, strong vibrations, or mechanical stress.

Installation

For optimal protection, install smoke detectors in every room, especially near bedrooms and along escape routes. Avoid kitchens, bathrooms, or areas with high steam or dust, as these can trigger false alarms. Mount the detector in the center of the ceiling, at least 50 cm from walls and 60 cm from corners. The device must be securely attached to the mounting plate; for safety reasons, it cannot be locked onto the plate without a battery installed.

Operation and Testing

Under normal conditions, the red LED flashes briefly every 40 seconds. To test the device, briefly press the 'Test' button; the detector will emit two sets of three beeps, and the LED will flash red. It is strongly recommended to perform this test weekly. If the alarm sounds, immediately evacuate the building according to your pre-planned escape route. Do not waste time gathering valuables.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting

The device is largely maintenance-free, aside from occasional battery replacement and cleaning. Keep the exterior clean with a soft, dry cloth. If the detector is in a dusty environment, clean it annually using a soft brush or vacuum cleaner. If the device signals a low battery (1 flash + 1 beep every 40 seconds) or a fault, replace the battery or the unit accordingly. For safety, replace the entire smoke detector after 8 years of operation.
