Quick guide from the manual
This document provides essential operating instructions for the Telwin 12-24V Doctor Charge 130. It covers battery charging, maintenance, vehicle starting aid, and diagnostic functions. Always read the full safety instructions in the original PDF before use.
General Safety
- Avoid contact with battery acid; rinse immediately with water if contact occurs.
- Charge batteries in a well-ventilated area; do not smoke or create sparks/flames.
- Wear protective goggles and electrically insulated clothing.
- Do not use the charger in the rain or snow.
- Disconnect the mains cable before connecting or disconnecting charging clamps.
- Never use the charger inside a vehicle or under the bonnet.
Installation and Connection
Position the charger in a stable location ensuring ventilation openings are not blocked. Connect to a power supply system with a neutral conductor connected to earth. Ensure the mains voltage matches the rating plate. Always use the yellow-green wire for grounding.
Operating During Charging
Before charging, ensure the battery capacity (Ah) is not lower than the minimum indicated on the charger. For WET batteries, remove caps and ensure electrolyte covers plates by 5-10 mm. Connect the red clamp to the positive terminal (+) and the black clamp to the vehicle chassis (away from the battery and fuel pipe). If the battery is removed from the vehicle, connect the black clamp directly to the negative terminal (-).
Vehicle Starting Operation (12V)
Read vehicle manufacturer instructions first. Quick charge the battery for 10-15 minutes in charge mode before attempting to start. Do not insist if the engine does not start to avoid damaging the battery or vehicle electronics.
Advanced Functions
- Pulse-Tronic Charge: Automatic, Boost, or customized charging.
- Test: Charge status, battery start capability (CCA), and alternator test.
- Maintenance: Desulfation and Equalization programs.
- Power Supply: Diagnostic and Supply modes for vehicle battery changes.
Troubleshooting and Alarms
The device displays alarm codes (AL1-AL9) for issues like short circuits, polarity reversal, or faulty batteries. Refer to the Info Alarm section for specific code meanings.
