Before starting the installation of your Terma Alex ONE 1140x500mm electric towel rail, ensure you have read the full instructions. The radiator is designed for closed heating systems. Ensure a minimum clearance of 100 mm from the floor to maximize heat efficiency. Note that valves are not provided and you will need standard 1/2" radiator valves.

Installation Preparation

Check that all parts listed in the fixing kit are present before starting. The supplied plugs are intended for hard masonry walls only; ensure they are suitable for your specific wall type. Before drilling, always check for hidden wires or pipes.

Mounting Instructions

Follow these steps to mount the radiator:

  1. Mark the position of the brackets on the wall based on the distances between bracket centres.
  2. Drill holes to a depth of approximately 80 mm using a 10 mm drill bit.
  3. Insert the rawl plugs (1) into the holes.
  4. Attach the mounting bracket-1 (3) using the connecting screw and washer (2).
  5. Guide the radiator brackets into the mounting brackets (3) and fix them securely with the connecting screws (4).

Connection and Commissioning

Connect the water flow using appropriate 1/2" BSP valves, following the valve manufacturer's guidelines. Once connected, fill the radiator and purge any trapped air using the bleed valve located at the top of the radiator.

Maintenance

Wipe the radiator down using a clean, damp cloth. Never use scourers or abrasive cleaning agents, as these can damage the finish.

Radiator not heating

Ensure the system is properly filled and that all trapped air has been purged via the bleed valve at the top of the radiator.

Mounting instability

Ensure the wall is hard masonry. The supplied plugs are not suitable for other wall types (e.g., plasterboard). Use appropriate fixings for your wall type.
