This manual contains essential safety and operational information for the Thomann Achat 115M passive speaker. Always read and follow these instructions to ensure safe operation. Due to the heavy weight of the device, at least two persons are required for transport and installation.
Safety instructions

- Mounting: Faulty mounting can lead to lethal injuries. Ensure all installations comply with local regulations. Only trained staff should mount speakers.
- Hearing protection: The device can produce high volume levels. Use ear protection or maintain distance if you experience ringing or hearing impairment.
- Operating conditions: Designed for indoor use only. Avoid moisture, direct sunlight, heavy dirt, and strong vibrations.
- Staining: Rubber feet may react with floor coatings (parquet, laminate, PVC). Use felt-pad protectors or a carpet if in doubt.
Installation
Unpack the device and check for transport damage. Use high-quality cables for all connections to ensure sound quality. Always secure the device with a secondary safety attachment (e.g., safety cable or chain) when hanging.

Hanging the speaker
The top of the housing features built-in flying tracks (Aeroquip). Safety eyelets (double studs) can be screwed or latched into these tracks. An additional loop on the back allows for tilting the box, but this must not be the sole support for the suspended weight.
Connections
The speaker features two NL4 sockets (Power Twist) on the rear panel, wired in parallel. Additional NL4 connections are located on the top and bottom of the housing. Ensure the amplifier's impedance and power handling match the speaker's specifications.

Practical help
Common problems
The amplifier or speaker is overloaded. Reduce the volume immediately to prevent permanent damage.
Rubber feet may react with floor coatings. Use felt-pad floor protectors or a carpet.
Before use
- Check for transportation damage before use.
- Ensure the installation complies with local standards and regulations.
- Use at least two people for transport and installation.
- Verify that the amplifier's impedance matches the speaker requirements.
- Use high-quality cables for all connections.
- Secure the device with a secondary safety attachment if hanging.
Specs in practice
- Power handling
- 350 W (RMS) / 1400 W (peak). The amplifier's max RMS output should be 50% above the speaker's power handling.
- Rated impedance
- 8 Ohm. The overall impedance of connected speakers must not fall below the amplifier's minimum output impedance.
- Dispersion angle
- 60° x 40° (horn). Defines the coverage area of the sound.
Images and diagrams
