Quick guide from the manual

The JHS 3-Series Screamer is an overdrive pedal based on the classic Tube Screamer circuit, featuring a "Strong Mod" design. It is designed to provide versatile drive and tone controls with increased clean headroom and usability as a boost.

Controls

The pedal features four main controls to shape your sound:

  • Volume: Adjusts the overall volume of the pedal. Turning left decreases volume, while turning right increases it.
  • Tone: Controls the brightness of the tone. Turning left makes the tone darker, while turning right makes it brighter.
  • Drive: Controls the amount of drive or gain. Turning left decreases the gain, while turning right increases it.
  • +/- Toggle: Changes the clipping style of the pedal. The Up position provides asymmetrical clipping (Strong Mod), and the Down position provides symmetrical clipping (classic TS9/TS808 style).

Connections

The pedal is equipped with standard 1/4" jacks:

  • Input: Located on the right side of the pedal. Connect your instrument here.
  • Output: Located on the left side of the pedal. Connect this to your amplifier or next pedal in the chain.

Power Requirements

The JHS 3-Series Screamer requires a 9V DC negative center power supply and consumes 12mA. Do not use a power supply with more than 9V DC, as this will void your warranty.
