The Tolsen 87472 and 87474 are 20V Lithium-Ion battery packs designed for use with the Tolsen MP20V power platform. For optimal performance, charge the battery fully before the first use. A new battery will reach its best performance after 2-3 complete charge and discharge cycles.
Safety Information
Warning: Failure to follow these instructions may cause overheating, fire, or explosion.
- Keep the battery out of reach of children.
- Charge the battery at ambient temperatures between 5°C and 40°C (ideally around 20°C).
- After charging, allow the battery to cool for 15 minutes before use.
- Do not leave batteries on charge for extended periods and never store the charger with a battery connected.
- Ensure the charger is disconnected from the mains after use.
- When not in use, store batteries at room temperature. Do not store in locations where temperatures may exceed 40°C.
- Keep battery contacts clean and free of foreign objects (e.g., paperclips, coins, keys, nails, screws) to prevent short circuits.
- Do not store lithium-ion batteries in a discharged state for long periods. For long-term storage, keep them in a high charge state and disconnected from the tool.
- Do not open, disassemble, crush, heat, or incinerate the battery.
Functions
The battery features an LED indicator system to monitor remaining capacity:
- Check Button: Press the button on the battery to activate the LED lights.
- LED Indicators: The lights will illuminate for a few seconds to show the approximate charge level.
Note: The indication may differ slightly from the actual capacity depending on usage conditions and ambient temperature.
Maintenance
Battery capacity naturally decreases over time. After 100 charge cycles, runtime and maximum torque performance will begin to decrease. This decline continues until the battery reaches minimum capacity after 350 cycles. This is normal and not a defect. If the charger fails to charge the battery, try a different battery to verify if the charger is functioning correctly.

Battery not charging
