This manual provides installation instructions for the Westinghouse indoor lighting fixture. Always turn off the power at the circuit breaker before beginning any installation work. Ensure all parts are present before discarding packaging.
Safety Information
- Electrical Shock Hazard: Turn off electricity at the circuit box before starting.
- Wiring: Proper wiring is essential. If you are unsure, contact a qualified electrician.
- Temperature Rating: If your home was built before 1985, supply wires may be rated for 60°C. This fixture requires wires rated for 75°C or 90°C. Consult an electrician before installing.
Installation and Wiring
- Thread mounting screws (A) into the cross bar (B).
- Secure cross bar (B) to the outlet box (C).
- Affix loop 1 (I1) to the canopy (F) using the hex nut (K) and star washer (J).
- Connect chain (H) to the fixture and canopy using quick links.
- Identify fixture wires: Smooth wire (hot), Ribbed wire (neutral), Bare copper (ground).
- Connect smooth wire to black house wire using connector (N).
- Connect ribbed wire to white house wire using connector (N).
- Connect ground wire to the green grounding screw (O) and the house ground wire.
- Tuck wires into the outlet box and secure the canopy with cap nuts (Q).
Fixture Assembly
- Raise the shade (V) to the socket (U).
- Secure with the support cap (M) and socket ring (L).
- Install the lamp (bulb). Do not exceed the recommended wattage.
- Turn the power back on at the circuit box.
Cleaning and Care
Wipe the fixture with a soft cloth. Clean glass with mild soap. Avoid chemical cleaners as they may discolor the finish. Do not use scouring pads, powders, steel wool, or abrasive paper.

Common problems
Check the bulb, verify wiring connections, and ensure power is turned on at the circuit breaker.
Refer to Figure 2 and Figure 3. Smooth wire connects to black (hot), ribbed wire connects to white (neutral), and bare copper connects to ground.

- Verify all parts are included (see Figure 1).
- Ensure supply wires are rated for at least 75°C or 90°C.
- Have a qualified electrician install if unsure.
- Do not damage electrical wiring, gas lines, or water lines when drilling.
