The Adler AD 3173 is a digital kitchen scale designed for household use. Before using, ensure the scale is placed on a cold, stable, and even surface away from heat-generating appliances. Always use a bowl, pad, or plate to weigh food. Do not immerse the scale in water or other liquids.
Device description
The scale features the following components:

- 1. Scale surface
- 2. UNIT button
- 3. LED Display
- 4. ON/OFF and TARE button
Before first use
Open the battery compartment on the bottom of the scale. Insert 2x 1.5V (AAA) batteries, ensuring correct polarity. Close the lid of the battery compartment.
Operation
Turning on: Press the ON/OFF button (4) to turn on the scale. Wait until the display shows 0.0.
Weighing: Place the object to be weighed on the scale surface (1). Wait a moment for the result to stabilize.
Tare function: Place the packaging or utensil on the scale surface (1). Press the TARE button (4). The display will show zero. You can now add the item to be weighed.
Changing units: Press the UNIT button (2) to cycle through the available units of measure (g, ml, lb:oz, oz).
Turning off: Press and hold the ON/OFF button (4) for 3 seconds to turn off the scale.
Cleaning and maintenance
Gently wipe the scale with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the device in water.
Error messages
- EE: Excessive scale load. Remove the object from the scale.
- Lo: Low battery. Replace the batteries.
- unSt: The scale is not stable. Ensure it is placed on a flat, stable surface.
