Quick Guide from the Manual

This manual provides essential instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of Ariston electric tankless water heaters. Important: This appliance must be installed by a qualified and licensed professional. The unit is designed for indoor use only and must be installed in a vertical position. Ensure the tank is completely filled with water before turning on the power to prevent damage to the heating element (dry-firing).

Installation

Installation must comply with local, state, and national codes, including the National Electrical Code (NFPA No. 70). Ensure the mounting surface is solid and secure.

  • Wall Mounting: Mount the unit vertically with water inlets and outlets at the bottom. Use four screws at least one inch in length.
  • Plumbing: Install the included Pressure Relief Device (PRD) at the inlet of the water supply line. Use metal pipes or reinforced hoses capable of withstanding at least 116 psi.
  • Electrical Connection: The unit must be hard-wired to a dedicated circuit breaker. Use the correct AWG wire size as specified in the technical data table. Ensure the unit is properly grounded.

Operation

To start the unit, turn on the circuit breaker and rotate the control knob clockwise. The LED indicator will light up when the unit is heating. Adjust the temperature by rotating the knob on the front cover. Clockwise increases temperature; counter-clockwise decreases it.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  • Removing the Cover: Pry off the knob, slide away the bottom cover, and remove the two screws securing the front cover.
  • Draining: Shut off the water inlet, open a faucet, and open the drain valve (if installed).
  • Descaling: If scale builds up, soak the heating element in white vinegar or an approved food-grade descaling solution. Rinse thoroughly with water and baking soda.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues, check the following:

  • Water not hot enough: Check if the flow rate is too high, the temperature setting is too low, or the water pressure is below 7 psi.
  • Water too hot: Increase the flow rate at the outlet or lower the temperature setting.
  • Heater shuts off: Check the power supply and circuit breaker.
  • Leaks: Inspect fittings and the heating element gasket.

Technical Specifications

The unit operates within a temperature range of 90°F to 131°F (30°C to 55°C). The minimum water flow required to activate the unit is 0.55 gpm. Working pressure is 7-115 psi.
