Installation
Installation and commissioning must be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with national safety regulations.
- Open the mounting box to access the mains connection.
- If required, secure the steel wire fixed to the back of the mounting plate to a non-flammable building component.
- Fix the end of the steel cord to the back of the mounting plate using the M5 hexagon socket head screw.
- Lead the mains supply cable through the compression nipple into the mounting plate.
- Fix the mounting plate to the mounting surface using the enclosed or other suitable fixing material. It is essential to use the enclosed gaskets.
- Make the earth conductor connection and electrical connection.
- For digital control, use the two loose plug-in terminals marked DALI. If these are not assigned, the luminaire operates at full light output.
- Insert the steel cord into the cord spanner up to the stop.
- Make the earth conductor connection between the mounting box and the mounting plate.
- Push the plug into the coupler, ensure the gasket is in the correct position, and bolt the mounting box firmly onto the mounting plate.
Shortening the Cable
The cable must only be shortened within the mounting box:
- Release the steel cord by pushing the bushing of the cord spanner.
- Disconnect the mains supply cable and earth conductor.
- Loosen the locking screws (M4 hexagon socket) for the suspension cords and pull the cords out of the lock holes.
- Unscrew the round nut and pull the cable with the gasket out of the screw connection.
- Shorten the cable to the desired length.
- Reassemble by inserting the pressure disk into the round nut, pressing the gasket into the nut, and feeding the cable through.
- Tighten the round nut, strip the lines, and pull the suspension cords tightly into the lock holes.
- Secure the locking screws and ensure the steel cord is led between the cord holder and the two suspension cords.
Maintenance and LED Replacement
Clean the luminaire regularly with a soft, lint-free cloth, water, and a little dishwashing detergent. Do not use high-pressure cleaners or solvent-based agents. For lacquered surfaces, BEGA Lacquer Care Set 71 179 is recommended.
Replacing the LED Module:
- Disconnect the electrical installation.
- Undo the hexagon socket screws (3 mm) at the mounting box and remove the luminaire.
- Disconnect the plug connection.
- Undo the hexagon socket screws (5 mm) at the luminaire top and remove the housing.
- Undo the 4 hexagon socket screws (5 mm) inside the housing, turn the LED unit counter-clockwise, and pull it out.
- To replace the module, undo the 3 mm hexagon socket screws and lift the cover of the LED unit.
- Follow the installation instructions for the LED module and reassemble in reverse order.
