This manual covers the operation and installation of the Bestway Flowclear 58389/58675 filter pump. The pump is designed for storable pools only and must not be used with permanently-installed pools. Ensure the pump is placed on solid, level ground and that the inlet and outlet valves are fully covered by water before operation.
Safety Instructions
- Electrical Safety: The pump must be supplied by an isolating transformer or a residual current device (RCD) with a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30 mA.
- Usage: Do not use the pump while people are inside the pool. Do not use extension cords.
- Handling: Do not pull or carry the pump by the power cord. Keep the cord free from abrasions and away from sharp objects.
- Environment: Do not add chemicals directly into the filter pump. Protect the pump from extreme weather conditions.
Installation
The manual distinguishes between two versions (V1 and V2) with different parts lists and connection steps. Refer to the specific section for your model version.
- Base Attachment: The IEC60335-2-41 standard requires the pump to be vertically fixed to a base (wood or concrete) using two 9mm holes spaced 163mm apart. The base must weigh at least 18kg.
- Location: Place the pump on the same level as the base of the pool. Ensure adequate drainage and easy access for maintenance.
- Connection: Ensure hydraulic connectors are not obstructed. Do not dry run the pump; ensure water covers the inlet and outlet valves before turning it on.
Maintenance
- Filter Replacement: To optimize performance and maintain hygiene, replace the filter cartridge every two weeks.
- Cleaning: Always unplug the pump before performing any maintenance.
- Storage: Remove all accessories, clean, and dry the pump and hoses thoroughly before storage to prevent mold. Disassemble the pump if temperatures drop below 10°C (50°F). Store in a dry place between 10°C and 38°C.
