The Bestway 60340 Hydrogenic Saltwater Chlorinator is designed for household pool maintenance. Before use, ensure the device is fully charged using a USB interface. The device requires a salt concentration of 3000 ppm (3 g/L) to function correctly. Operation involves activating the device by holding the power button for 3 seconds and setting the desired working time (1-8 hours) based on your pool size.

Safety Instructions
- Household use only: This appliance is not for commercial use.
- Supervision: Can be used by children aged 8+ and persons with reduced capabilities if supervised.
- Charging: Max charging voltage and current is 5V DC, 2A. Do not leave in the sun as this shortens battery life.
- Storage: Disassemble and store indoors during winter or long periods of non-use.
- Disposal: Do not dispose of with household waste; recycle according to local regulations.
Setup and Salt Requirements
Only use sodium chloride (NaCl) salt with a purity of at least 99.8%. Salt does not evaporate; it only decreases when pool water is lost.
- Initial Salt Addition (3000 ppm): For a 150 gal (568 L) pool, add 3.8 lb (1.7 kg). For a 370 gal (1400 L) pool, add 9.3 lb (4.2 kg).
- Formula for initial salt: Water capacity (gal) * 0.025 = lb of salt; Water capacity (L) * 0.003 = kg of salt.
- Formula for F1 error: Water capacity (gal) * 0.0084 = lb of salt; Water capacity (L) * 0.001 = kg of salt.
Operating the Chlorinator
1. Charging: Connect the USB cable to the device. The power button flashes red while charging and turns green when fully charged.
2. Activation: Press and hold the Power Button for 3 seconds.
3. Setting Time: Press the Power Button to adjust the working time (1-8 hours). The device will automatically enter standby mode after the cycle and restart the next day at approximately the same time.
Maintenance and Cleaning
To maintain optimal performance, inspect the electrodes monthly. If using hard water, clean the electrodes more frequently.

- Cleaning the Electrolytic Cell: Use a solution of 50% water and 50% vinegar. Avoid chemicals that damage the titanium plate.
- Water Chemical Balance: Maintain available chlorine between 0.5 - 3.0 ppm, pH between 7.4 - 7.6, and total alkalinity between 80 - 100 ppm.
Troubleshooting and Error Codes
If the device displays an error code, follow these steps:

- F1 (Low Salt): Add salt to the pool.
- F2 (High Salt): Drain about 20% of the pool water and refill with clean water. Repeat if necessary.
- F6 (End of Lifespan): The electrolytic cell has reached the end of its life; contact customer support.
- Insufficient Chlorine: Increase daily running time, check salt levels, or clean the electrolytic cell.

Common problems
Increase daily running time, check salt concentration (must be 3000 ppm), or clean the electrolytic cell.
Calcium levels are too high. Drain 20-25% of pool water and refill with clean water.
Low salt concentration. Add salt according to the pool salt table.
Salt concentration too high. Drain part of the pool water and add clean water.
Before use
- Charge the chlorinator fully using a USB charger.
- Ensure pool water temperature is between 10°C and 40°C.
- Verify salt purity is at least 99.8%.
- Ensure the chlorinator is fully submerged in the pool.
- Check that the electrolytic cell is clean.
