Quick guide from the manual
The Bosch AdvancedSaw 18V-140 is a cordless jigsaw designed for cutting wood, plastic, metal, ceramic plates, rubber, and laminate. It supports straight and curved cuts with a mitre angle of up to 45°. Always ensure the battery is removed before performing any maintenance or changing accessories.
Device description
Key components include the lock-off switch, on/off switch, battery charge indicator, sawdust blower switch, orbital action adjusting lever, base plate, and Cut Control system for precise cutting line tracking.
Assembly
Inserting/changing the saw blade: Wear protective gloves. Use only T-shank saw blades. Push the blade into the receptacle until it clicks. The SDS lever locks it automatically. Ensure the back of the blade is in the guide roller groove. To eject, turn the SDS lever forward toward the safety guard.
Cut Control: The viewing window can be attached to the base plate or directly to the glide shoe for precise guidance.
Operation
Pendulum action: Adjustable in four stages using the adjusting lever. Use lower settings for finer cuts and higher settings for faster cutting in soft materials.
Mitre angle: The base plate can be swiveled up to 45° left or right. Loosen the base plate screw, slide the plate slightly, adjust to the desired angle using the scale, and retighten the screw.
Plunge cutting: Only for soft materials like wood or gypsum board. Use short blades and a 0° mitre angle.
Maintenance and cleaning
Keep the tool and ventilation slots clean. Regularly clean the saw blade receptacle. Lubricate the guide roller occasionally with a drop of oil. If the tool becomes heavily soiled, it may lead to malfunctions.
Safety
Always wear personal protective equipment, including eye protection. Keep hands away from the sawing area. Do not reach under the workpiece. Ensure the base plate rests securely while sawing.
