Quick guide from the manual
This document provides essential operating instructions for the Bosch GKS 18V-57-2 and GKS 18V-57-2 L cordless circular saws. Always remove the battery before performing any maintenance, tool changes, or adjustments to prevent accidental starting.

Device description
The circular saw is designed for straight and miter cuts in wood. Key components include the on/off switch, spindle lock button, cutting depth scale, and adjustable base plate.
Assembly and setup
Blade installation/replacement: Place the tool on the motor housing front. Press and hold the spindle lock button (4). Use the hex key (27) to loosen the clamping bolt (26). Retract the pendulum guard (14) and remove the clamping flange (25) and blade (24). Clean all parts before installing a new blade, ensuring the rotation direction matches the arrow on the guard. Tighten the clamping bolt to 6–9 Nm.
Operation
Cutting depth: Loosen the clamping lever (7). Adjust the saw relative to the base plate (15) to the desired depth on the scale, then retighten the lever.
Miter angle: Loosen the clamping lever (9), tilt the saw to the desired angle on the scale (8), and retighten the lever.
Operation: To start, press the lock-off switch (2), then press and hold the on/off switch (1). Release the switch to stop. The saw features an integrated run-out brake and LED worklight.
Maintenance and cleaning
Keep the tool and ventilation slots clean. Ensure the pendulum guard moves freely and closes automatically. Clean dust and chips with a brush. Clean resin or glue residue from the blade immediately after use.
Safety
Always wear personal protective equipment, including eye protection and a dust mask. Keep hands away from the cutting area and the blade. Do not reach under the workpiece. Support large panels to minimize the risk of kickback.
