The Bosch EasyCut 12 is a cordless all-purpose saw designed for domestic use, specifically for cutting branches, slats, and hardwood or softwood. It is suitable for straight cuts. Always ensure the battery is removed before performing any maintenance, changing accessories, or transporting the tool to prevent accidental activation.

Assembly

Before first use, fully charge the battery using a compatible Bosch charger. To insert the battery, slide it into the battery receptacle until it clicks into place. To remove, press the release button and pull the battery backward.

Inserting/changing the saw blade

  1. Wear protective gloves when handling the saw blade, as it can be sharp and hot after use.
  2. Use the locking lever to open the cover of the saw blade receptacle.
  3. Insert the saw blade, ensuring the drive shaft and the end of the blade fit into the recess of the receptacle.
  4. Close the cover and lock it with the lever until it clicks.
  5. The chain is tensioned automatically.

Operation

To switch on the tool, first press the lock-off button to the left or right, then press and hold the on/off switch. You can release the lock-off button once the tool is running. To switch off, release the on/off switch. The sawing speed is variable based on how hard you press the on/off switch.

Working advice

  • Always use a sturdy support for small or thin workpieces.
  • Cut from front to back or top to bottom.
  • If the blade jams, switch off the tool immediately and widen the cut with a suitable tool before pulling it out.
  • The suspension strap is for storage only; do not carry the tool by it.

Maintenance and cleaning

Keep the tool and ventilation slots clean for safe operation. Clean the saw blade and its receptacle dry; use a fine brush to remove ingrained dirt. The saw blade is maintenance-free and does not require oiling. Regularly clean the saw blade receptacle by removing the blade and gently tapping the tool on a flat surface.
