Device Description
The GCB 18V-127 is a cordless band saw designed for cutting plastic, metal, and rubber on a stable surface. It is suitable for straight cuts.
Assembly
Always remove the battery before performing any maintenance, changing accessories, or transporting the tool.
Inserting/Replacing the Bandsaw Blade
- Swivel the pre-tension lever (12) as far as it will go in the direction of the unlock symbol.
- Release the two locking clips (9) and open the cover (15).
- Guide the bandsaw blade (11) into the saw blade guides (16). The rear end of the blade must touch the bearings in the bottom part of the guides.
- Guide the blade around the two rollers (17).
- Tension the blade by swiveling the pre-tension lever (12) as far as it will go in the direction of the lock symbol.
- Close the cover (15) and lock it with the clips (9).
- Check the blade seating by briefly switching the tool on and off several times.
Operation
Switching On and Off
To switch on, first press the lock-off switch (6) on the rear side, then press and hold the on/off switch (5). To switch off, release the on/off switch (5) and press the lock-off switch (6) on the front side to secure the tool.
Adjusting the Blade Tracking
If the distance between the blade and the upper edge of the roller (17) exceeds 3 mm, the tracking must be adjusted:
- Loosen the locking nut (19) using the socket spanner (20) anti-clockwise.
- Turn the adjustment screw (21) one rotation: clockwise to lower the blade, anti-clockwise to raise it.
- Set the speed thumbwheel (4) to level 1.
- Switch on the tool and let the blade run for one rotation.
- Switch off, remove the battery, and check the height. Repeat if necessary.
- Retighten the locking nut (19) clockwise.
Maintenance
