Quick guide from the manual

This document provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of the Bosch EasyChain 18V-15-7 cordless chainsaw. It is intended for domestic use, specifically for sawing wood such as branches, planks, and wooden beams at ground level. Important: This tool is not intended for felling trees, plunge cuts, or cutting mineral materials/plasterboard.

Device description

The chainsaw features a 150mm chain bar, a toolless SDS chain tensioning system, and a movable chain guard for added safety. It is powered by an 18V Bosch battery.

Assembly and chain tensioning

  1. Place the chainsaw on a flat surface.
  2. Ensure the tensioning wheel is turned fully counter-clockwise.
  3. Slot the saw chain into the chain bar gap, ensuring the correct running direction.
  4. Place the chain bar on the fastening bolt and loop the chain around the drive sprocket.
  5. Attach the cover and partially secure it with the clamping knob.
  6. Rotate the tensioning wheel clockwise until the chain is partially tensioned.
  7. Turn the tensioning wheel clockwise until the chain can be lifted approx. 2-3 mm from the bar.
  8. Tighten the clamping knob firmly and fold down the bracket.

Operation

Always hold the tool with both hands (rear handle and auxiliary handle). To start, press the lock-off button and then the On/Off switch. Release the lock-off button once the chain starts moving. To stop, release the On/Off switch.

Lubrication

The chain is not automatically lubricated. Check the chain before each use and apply oil manually in the area between the chain bar and the saw chain. Use only biodegradable chain lubricants (RAL-UZ48).

Maintenance and cleaning

Always remove the battery before maintenance. Clean the housing with a soft brush and clean cloth. Remove the cover, chain bar, and chain to clean residue from the area under the cover and the drive sprocket. Store the tool in a secure, dry place with the chain cover fitted.

Troubleshooting

If the tool fails to operate, check if the battery is charged and fully inserted, or if the motor protector has activated (allow to cool). If the chain does not move, check for clogs under the SDS cover or lack of lubrication.
