Table of contents

Quick guide from the manual

This document provides essential instructions for the safe and efficient use of the Bosch EasyChain 18V-15-7 cordless chainsaw. Always read the full safety instructions before use. The tool is intended for domestic use, such as sawing branches, planks, and wooden beams at ground level. It is not suitable for felling trees or plunge cuts.

Assembly and Chain Tensioning

Assembly requires no tools. Ensure the battery is removed before starting. Place the saw on a flat surface, insert the saw chain into the chain bar slot, and ensure the correct running direction. Use the magnet for support when aligning the chain bar. Rotate the tensioning wheel clockwise to partially tension the chain, then attach the cover and secure it. Adjust the tension until the chain can be lifted by approximately 2-3 mm from the chain bar.

Saw-chain Lubrication

The saw chain is not automatically lubricated. Check the chain before each use and apply biodegradable chain oil manually between the chain bar and the saw chain. Briefly switch on the saw to distribute the oil evenly.

Operation

To switch on, remove the chain cover, insert the battery, hold the saw with both hands, press the lock-off button, and then the On/Off switch. Release the lock-off button once the chain moves. To switch off, release the On/Off switch.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Remove the battery before any maintenance. Regularly clean the chain, chain bar, and the area under the cover using a brush. Store the tool in a dry, secure place out of the reach of children, always with the chain cover fitted.

Troubleshooting

If the saw fails to operate, check if the battery is charged and correctly inserted, or if the motor protection has activated. If the chain does not move, check for clogs under the cover or lack of oil. For persistent issues, contact an authorized Bosch service center.
