Quick guide from the manual
This document provides essential instructions for the Bosch GCM 18V-254 D Professional cordless sliding mitre saw. It covers safe operation, assembly, and maintenance. Always ensure the tool is mounted on a stable, level surface before use. The saw is intended for straight cuts in wood, chipboard, and fibreboard, and with appropriate blades, aluminium profiles and plastic.
Assembly
Before using the tool, ensure all parts are present: sliding mitre saw, clamping wheel, adjustable fence, screw clamp, hex key/slotted screwdriver, dust bag, and two workpiece supports. Mount the tool on a flat, stable work surface using the mounting holes or screw clamps. Install the workpiece supports into the openings on the tool or the second support as needed. Fit the clamping wheel and adjustable fence before operation.
Operation
To switch on, slide the lock-off button to the middle and press the on/off switch. To switch off, release the switch. The saw features a transport safety lock for easier handling. Always tighten the locking knob and clamping wheel firmly before sawing to prevent the blade from wedging in the workpiece. Ensure the retracting blade guard moves freely and closes automatically.
Laser Adjustment
The tool features two laser beams to indicate the cutting line. To test, connect the tool to power. To adjust, bring the tool to the work position and turn the saw table to the 0° detent. Use the switch to turn on the laser beams without pressing the lock-off button. If adjustment is needed, remove the laser protection cap and adjust the lateral deviation using the fastening screw on the laser housing.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Always remove the battery before performing maintenance or changing tools. Keep the tool and ventilation slots clean. Regularly clean the guide roller and remove dust and chips after each use. The retracting blade guard must always move freely and retract automatically.
