This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of the Bosch GKS 18V-57-2 Professional cordless circular saw. Always read the full safety instructions before use.

Device Description
The GKS 18V-57-2 is a cordless circular saw designed for straight and mitre cuts in wood. Key components include the on/off switch, lock-off button, spindle lock, parallel guide, and adjustable base plate.
Assembly
Before any work on the tool (maintenance, tool change, etc.), remove the battery. Wear protective gloves when changing the saw blade. Ensure the saw blade's maximum permitted speed is higher than the tool's no-load speed. Follow the steps in Figure A to mount or change the blade, ensuring the rotation direction matches the arrow on the blade guard.

Operation
Adjust the cutting depth using the clamping lever (7) so that less than a full tooth is visible under the workpiece. Adjust the mitre angle using the clamping lever (9). The cut mark (12) indicates the blade position for right-angled cuts. Always ensure the tool is switched off before inserting the battery.

Maintenance and Cleaning
Keep the tool and ventilation slots clean. The pendulum blade guard must move freely and close automatically. Clean the area around the guard regularly with a brush. Non-coated blades can be protected with a thin layer of acid-free oil, which must be removed before use.
Safety
Always wear personal protective equipment, including eye protection and a dust mask. Do not operate the saw in explosive atmospheres. Keep hands away from the cutting area and the blade. Support large panels to minimize the risk of blade pinching and kickback.
