Device description
The GKS 18V-57 G is a cordless circular saw designed for straight and miter cuts in wood. It features a spindle lock for easy blade changes, a work light, and compatibility with the FSN guide rail system.
Assembly
Inserting/changing the circular saw blade: Remove the battery before any work on the tool. Use the hex key (3) to loosen the clamping bolt (25) while holding the spindle lock button (5). Ensure the blade rotation arrow matches the arrow on the protective guard (13). Tighten the clamping bolt to 6–9 Nm.
Operation
Setting cutting depth: Loosen the clamping lever (29). Adjust the saw relative to the base plate (6) to the desired depth and retighten the lever. Setting miter angle: Loosen the wing bolts (8) and (15), tilt the saw to the desired angle on the scale (9), and retighten the bolts.
Maintenance and cleaning
Keep the tool and ventilation slots clean for safe operation. The retracting blade guard must move freely and close automatically. Clean dust and chips with a brush. Regularly clean the dust extraction adapter (28) if used.
Safety
Always wear personal protective equipment, including eye protection and a dust mask. Keep hands away from the cutting area and the blade. Never reach underneath the workpiece. Secure the workpiece to a stable platform.

Common problems
Saw blade binds or stalls
Release the trigger immediately and hold the saw motionless until the blade stops. Investigate and eliminate the cause of binding.
Dust extraction clogged
Ensure the dust extraction adapter is not used without an external vacuum system connected. Do not attach a dust bag to the adapter.
Battery not charging
Ensure only recommended Bosch chargers are used. If no LEDs light up on the battery indicator, the battery may be defective.
Before use
- Ensure the battery is fully charged.
- Check that the lower blade guard closes freely and instantly.
- Verify the saw blade is sharp, undamaged, and correctly installed.
- Ensure all locking levers for depth and bevel are tight.
- Check that the workpiece is securely clamped.
