Quick guide from the manual
This document provides essential information for the Bosch GSR 12V-20 and GSR 12V-20 HX cordless drill/drivers. It covers safe operation, battery management, and basic maintenance. Always refer to the full manual for comprehensive safety warnings and technical specifications.

Device Description
The drill/driver is designed for driving and loosening screws and for drilling in wood, metal, ceramic, and plastic. Key components include the tool holder, torque presetting ring, gear selector, and battery release button.
Fitting
Charging the battery: Use only the chargers listed in the technical data. The battery is supplied partially charged; charge it fully before first use. The Li-ion battery is protected against deep discharge by Electronic Cell Protection (ECP).
Removing the battery: Press the release button and pull the battery downwards out of the tool.
Changing the tool: Always remove the battery before working on the tool. For the GSR 12V-20 HX, pull the locking sleeve forward to insert or remove the tool. For the GSR 12V-20, open the keyless chuck by turning it, insert the tool, and tighten the chuck firmly by hand.
Operation
Start-up: Insert the charged battery into the handle until it engages. Set the rotational direction switch to the middle position to prevent accidental starting.
Rotational direction: Use the rotational direction switch to change the direction. Right rotation for drilling and driving screws; left rotation for loosening screws and nuts.
Torque preselection: Use the torque presetting ring to select the required torque in 20 stages. The overload clutch is deactivated in the drill position.
Gear selection: Use the gear selector only when the tool is at a standstill. Gear I is for low speed (screwdriving/large drilling diameters), and Gear II is for high speed (small drilling diameters).
Maintenance and Cleaning
Always remove the battery before maintenance or transport. Keep the tool and ventilation slots clean for safe and efficient operation.
