This manual provides essential safety and operating instructions for Bosch lithium-ion batteries. Always read these instructions before using the battery to prevent electric shock, fire, or serious injury. Keep the battery away from children and protect it from heat, fire, water, and moisture.

Safety instructions

General safety:

• These warnings apply only to Bosch lithium-ion batteries.
• Use the battery only with products from the manufacturer to protect it against dangerous overload.
• Do not open the battery; there is a risk of short-circuiting.
• If the battery is damaged or used improperly, vapors may be emitted. Ensure the area is well-ventilated and seek medical attention if you experience adverse effects.
• If the battery is damaged, flammable liquid may be ejected. Avoid contact with this liquid. If contact occurs, rinse with water. If the liquid comes into contact with your eyes, seek additional medical attention.
• Do not short-circuit the battery pack. Keep it away from metal objects like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, or screws when not in use.
• Protect the battery from pointed objects like nails or screwdrivers, and from external force, which can cause internal short-circuits.
• Never service damaged battery packs. Service should only be performed by the manufacturer or authorized service providers.

Charging

Charging conditions:

• The battery is supplied partially charged. Fully charge it in the charger before first use.
• Only charge with the charger specified by the manufacturer.
• Only charge the battery at an ambient temperature between 0°C and +35°C.
• If charging via USB, ensure the ambient temperature is between +10°C and +35°C.
• Charging outside these temperature ranges can damage the battery and increase fire risk.

Maintenance and cleaning

• Occasionally clean the ventilation slots and terminals on the battery using a soft, clean, and dry brush.
• Do not use any chemical substances to clean the battery.

Transport

Lithium-ion batteries are subject to Dangerous Goods Legislation. Users can transport the batteries by road without further restrictions. When shipping by third parties (e.g., air transport or forwarding agency), special requirements on packaging and labeling must be observed. Consult a hazardous material expert when preparing the item for shipment. Only dispatch battery packs if the housing is undamaged.

Disposal

Do not dispose of batteries with household waste. Batteries and packaging should be sorted for environmentally friendly recycling. In the EU, defective or used batteries must be collected separately according to Directive 2006/66/EC.
