The CLAS OP 0082BL is a metal case air reel designed for automatic hose retraction. Key operational requirements include mounting the unit in a sheltered area to prevent rust and polypropylene degradation, and ensuring the air supply is turned off before retracting the hose to prevent damage. The reel features a ratchet mechanism for locking the hose at desired lengths.
Product description
This air reel is constructed with high-quality materials and features a swirled spring for automatic retraction. It is capable of 180-degree rotation, allowing for a wide range of motion. The hose is kink-resistant and suitable for various workshop or industrial environments.

Installation
The reel should be installed near an air source. For optimal coverage in large areas, place it in the center of the workspace.

- Mounting: The bracket can be installed on a brick wall or a horizontal beam/post. The most appropriate position is approximately 1 meter above the ground.
- Vertical Mounting: The reel can be used vertically if hung from an overhead beam or rafter.
- Hardware: The wall mounting bracket consists of three parts: two fasteners and the bracket. Use M8 screws with spring washers or padding to ensure all parts are securely locked in position.
- Connection: Screw the coupler (3) onto the inlet connector, then insert the air source socket (4) into the coupler.
Operation
The reel is equipped with a ratchet wheel and detent design.
- Extending: Pull the hose out to the desired length. You will hear a "KADA" sound. When you stop pulling, the ratchet will lock the hose in place.
- Retracting: To retract, pull the hose slightly until the ratchet releases (no "KADA" sound). It is recommended to have at least 25% of the hose extended before retracting. Always hold the hose and guide it back to ensure even retraction and prevent injury or damage.
Maintenance and safety
- Cleaning: Do not immerse the reel in water. If the hose is dirty, clean it manually before retracting.
- Storage: When not in use, it is advisable to store the reel. Avoid leaving it outdoors in low temperatures, as the hose may become stiff.
- Chemicals: Keep the hose away from chemicals such as acetone, white spirits, and lactic acid.
- Safety: Do not exceed the specified working pressure or temperature. Remove all spring tension before attempting any disassembly. Repairs should be performed by an authorized technician.

Practical help
Common problems
Turn off the air/water supply before retracting. Ensure the hose is not exposed to direct sunlight or high heat, which can cause the hose to expand and become difficult to retract.
Do not leave the reel outdoors in very low temperatures, as this reduces hose flexibility.
Mount the reel in a sheltered position. Exposure to the elements, especially sunlight, will degrade the metal and polypropylene components.
Before use
- Verify that the air source pressure does not exceed 120 PSI.
- Ensure the mounting surface (wall or beam) is solid and capable of supporting the reel weight.
- Check that the hose is free of kinks or damage before use.
- Confirm the installation area is sheltered from direct sunlight and extreme weather.
- Ensure all mounting screws are tightened with washers/padding.
Specs in practice
- Working pressure
- 120 PSI (Do not exceed this limit)
- Burst pressure
- 360 PSI (Maximum pressure before failure)
- Temperature range
- 0°C to 60°C (Operating environment)
Images and diagrams
- The exploded view (page 10) details all 30 components, including the ratchet wheel (19), drive spring (20), and mounting bracket (9).

Model compatibility
- The hose is not suitable for drinkable water unless specifically indicated.
- The inlet/outlet connection is 1/4 inch.
