Quick guide from the manual
The Axxess CHRYSAV is a retention harness designed to provide an audio/video input to factory overhead video screens from an aftermarket radio. This harness must be used in conjunction with an Axxess interface. It is specifically designed for overhead monitors that do not have a built-in DVD player.
Compatibility
This harness is compatible with select Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM, and Volkswagen vehicles from 2008 and newer. Please verify your specific vehicle model and year against the application list provided in the manual.
Tools Required
- Crimping tool and connectors, or solder gun, solder, and heat shrink
- Tape
- Wire cutter
- Zip ties
- Small flat-blade screwdriver
Connections
Follow these steps to wire the harness:
- A/V 1 RCA Jacks: Connect to the aftermarket radio's audio/video output. Connect the Yellow jack to video-out, the Red jack to right audio-out, and the White jack to left audio-out.
- A/V 2 RCA Jacks: Disregard these; they are not used in this application.
- Backup Camera: Connect the Yellow RCA jack labeled "BACKUP" to the aftermarket radio's backup camera input.
- Grounding: Connect the three loose Black wires to the chassis ground.
Important Notes
- For models equipped with a 3rd-row Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) system, only the 2nd-row RSE will function.
- When programming the Axxess interface, ensure the rear seat entertainment screen is fully closed.
