The JBL Stage 1200S is a compact subwoofer enclosure designed for mobile audio applications. For the best performance, it is strongly recommended that you have the unit installed by a qualified professional. If you choose to install it yourself, ensure you have the necessary tools and experience. Always prioritize safety by wearing protective eyewear and disconnecting the vehicle's battery before starting any electrical work.

Installation Warnings and Tips

• Safety First: Always wear protective eyewear when using tools.
• Electrical Safety: Turn off all audio components and electrical devices before starting. Disconnect the negative (-) lead from the vehicle's battery.
• Clearance Check: Before drilling or mounting, check both sides of the surface to ensure screws or wires will not puncture brake lines, fuel lines, or wiring harnesses.
• Insulation: Ensure all electrical connections are secure and properly insulated.
• Surface Preparation: Use a utility knife to remove unwanted fabric or vinyl before drilling to prevent material from snagging in the drill bit or saw.
• Moisture: Do not mount speakers in locations where they may get wet.

Choosing a Mounting Location

Select a mounting location that does not interfere with cargo, fold-down rear seats, or the trunk lid. The ideal location is typically a corner of the trunk or cargo area. Ensure the enclosure is securely mounted to the surface.

Speaker Connections

Connect the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals on the enclosure to the amplifier's outputs, ensuring proper polarity is observed. Use at least 0.5mm² (20 AWG) speaker wire for these connections.
