Quick guide from the manual

The Danfoss VHX-MONO valve set is designed for wall connection radiators. A critical requirement for correct operation is the orientation of the return flow: the return flow must always be on the thermostat side. The thermostat element can be mounted on either the left or right side depending on your preference.

Installation steps

  1. Prepare radiator: Place the radiator on the floor with mounted brackets. Fit the valve loosely to the radiator.
  2. Measure: Measure distance A from the valve to the floor.
  3. Cut pipes: Fit the connection tubes in the wall and cut them to the required length of A+B.
  4. Align: Use the hexagon pads in the valve inlets to align the radiator on the pipes.
  5. Mount: Mark the position and mount the radiator on the wall.
  6. Secure fittings: Place the fitting on the pipes and tighten it into the valve.
  7. Finalize: Tighten the valve to the radiator.

Presetting and kv-values

The valve allows for flow regulation using kv-values. The setting range is from 1 to 7, with N representing the maximum flow. Adjust the setting based on your system requirements using the table below:

  • Setting 1: 0.12 m³/h
  • Setting 2: 0.15 m³/h
  • Setting 3: 0.20 m³/h
  • Setting 4: 0.25 m³/h
  • Setting 5: 0.30 m³/h
  • Setting 6: 0.34 m³/h
  • Setting 7: 0.38 m³/h
  • Setting N: 0.40 m³/h

Ensure the kv-value is preset and the thermostat is connected if not already done.

Compatibility and specifications

The valve set is compatible with various tube types. Ensure you use the correct fittings based on your pipe material:

  • Soft steel and copper tubes: Available in sizes 8, 10, 12, 14, 15, and 16 mm.
  • VPE PEX tubes: Available in sizes 12x1.1, 12x2, 14x2, 15x2.5, and 16x2 mm.
  • AluPEX tubes: Available in sizes 12x2, 14x2, and 16x2 mm.

The system supports RAX and RTX thermostat types.

Common problems

Incorrect flow direction

Ensure the return flow is always connected on the thermostat side.

Radiator misalignment

Use the hexagon pads located in the valve inlets to properly align the radiator with the pipes.

Before use

  • Determine if the thermostat will be on the left or right side.
  • Measure distance A from the valve to the floor accurately.
  • Calculate pipe length as A+B.
  • Verify the pipe material (soft steel, copper, PEX, or AluPEX) to select the correct fitting.
  • Ensure the valve is tightened securely to the radiator.

Model compatibility

  • Compatible with soft steel, copper, VPE PEX, and AluPEX tubes.
  • Supports RAX and RTX thermostat series.
