Quick guide from the manual
This document provides essential regulatory and integration guidelines for the DELL 13.56MHz RFID wireless module. It is intended exclusively for OEM integrators. The module is certified for use in specific DELL portable computers (models P138G, P139G, P104F). Integrators must ensure that the final product complies with all relevant FCC and ISED regulations, including proper labeling and RF exposure safety.
Integration conditions
To maintain regulatory compliance, the following conditions must be strictly met:
- The module must not be co-located or operated in conjunction with any other transmitter or antenna.
- Installation is only valid in the tested host or compatible series with similar RF exposure characteristics and equal or larger antenna separation distances.
- The OEM integrator is responsible for testing the end-product for any additional compliance requirements.
- The end-user manual must not contain instructions on how to install or remove this RF module.
Antenna specifications
The module is certified for use with a loop antenna. The antenna must be installed to maintain a minimum distance of 20 cm between the antenna and users during operation.
Labeling requirements
The final end product must be labeled in a visible area with the following information:
- Contains FCC ID: E2K-DWRFID2001
- Contains IC: 1514B-DWRFID2001
Regulatory compliance
This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules and ISED licence-exempt RSSs. Operation is subject to the condition that the device does not cause harmful interference and must accept any received interference. If the module is installed in a portable host where the 20cm distance cannot be maintained, a separate SAR evaluation is required to confirm compliance with portable RF exposure rules.

Practical help
Common problems
Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna, increase separation between equipment and receiver, or connect to a different circuit outlet.
If the module is co-located with other transmitters or installed in a non-compatible host, the authorization is invalid and requires a new certification or class II permissive change.
Before use
- Verify the host device is one of the approved models (P138G, P139G, P104F).
- Ensure the antenna is a loop type with equal or lower gain than the certified version.
- Confirm a minimum 20cm separation distance between the antenna and the user.
- Check that the module is not co-located with other transmitters.
- Prepare the final product label with the correct FCC and IC IDs.
Specs in practice
- FCC ID: E2K-DWRFID2001
- Unique identifier for the module required on the final product label for US compliance.
- IC: 1514B-DWRFID2001
- Unique identifier for the module required on the final product label for Canada compliance.
- 20 cm separation
- Minimum distance required between the antenna and the user to comply with mobile RF exposure limits.
Model compatibility
- Intended for OEM integrators only.
- Compatible with DELL portable computer models P138G, P139G, and P104F.
- Requires separate SAR evaluation if used in a portable host where 20cm distance is not maintained.
