Quick guide from the manual

The ZWU 06E is a central control unit designed to manage the charging of underfloor storage heating systems and electric storage heaters. This document provides essential information for both technicians and end-users. Key procedures include professional installation, system commissioning, and daily operation via the touchscreen interface. Please note that installation and repairs must be performed by a qualified technician to ensure safety and compliance with local regulations.

Device description

The ZWU 06E controls heating charging based on outdoor temperature, adjusters, and control signals. It features a timer function for forward, backward, and spread control, and supports various external sensors. The unit is designed for series mounting in distribution boards.

Installation

Installation must be carried out by an authorized technician in accordance with local utility and VDE regulations. The unit requires 3 modular spaces in a distribution board. The external NTC sensor should be installed at least 2 meters above the floor, preferably in the main zone of use, avoiding direct sunlight and heat sources. Cables for SELV signals (external sensor, DC control signal) must be routed separately from mains power cables.

Commissioning

Initial commissioning is performed via the Menu -> Installer -> Startup path. Technicians must configure the application range (CCU or ACU), charging model (Classic or Intelligent), and system parameters. Factory settings are provided for quick setup, but adjustments should be made to match the specific heating system configuration. A commissioning certificate is included in the manual to document settings.

Operation

Users can manage the heating system through the Operation menu. Available operating modes include Standby (frost protection only), Manual (heat level 1.0 to 5.0), and Automatic (timer-based control). Users can also configure week programs and holiday programs to optimize heating performance and energy consumption.

User interface

The device features a touchscreen interface. After pressing the menu key, users can navigate using the four function keys displayed at the bottom of the screen. Common functions include changing entries, saving settings, and navigating menu levels. If the menu does not receive a response to a data query, the display will show '~~~'.
