Quick guide from the manual
The Dogtra 1200X is a remote training collar system designed for dog training. Key features include a 1200-meter range (1600m for Black Edition), 100 stimulation levels, Nick/Constant stimulation, vibration, and an audible tone. The system is IPX9K waterproof and expandable to a 3-dog system.
Device Overview
The transmitter features a rheostat dial for intensity control, a stimulation level lock, and an LCD screen displaying the stimulation level and battery life. The receiver is waterproof and features removable contact points.
Getting Started
To turn the transmitter on/off, press and hold the power button on the bottom right for 2 seconds. To turn the receiver on/off, press and hold the power button located between the contact points for 2 seconds. The LED indicator will turn solid green when powered on and red when powered off.
Pairing Additional Receivers
- Turn on the transmitter and set the stimulation level to 0. Use the toggle to select the desired dog (1, 2, or 3).
- Ensure the receiver is off. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds until the LED blinks.
- Simultaneously press the front transmitter button and the side Boost button until the screen displays 'CD****'.
- Confirm pairing by pressing the Pager button; the receiver should vibrate.
Stimulation and Training
The 1200X uses a rheostat dial to adjust intensity from 1 to 100. Always start at the lowest level and increase gradually until the dog shows a mild response. The 'Nick' mode provides a single pulse, while 'Constant' provides continuous stimulation for up to 12 seconds. The 'Boost' button allows for an instant increase in stimulation level.
Maintenance and Charging
Charge the batteries for 2 hours before the first use. Use only Dogtra-approved chargers. Ensure the rubber charging port plug is securely in place during use to maintain the waterproof seal. Clean the receiver after use, especially if exposed to saltwater.
Troubleshooting
- No reaction: Ensure the receiver is on and the collar is tight enough for contact points to touch the skin. Increase the intensity level.
- No stimulation: Check battery levels. If the test light works but you feel nothing, your skin tolerance may be higher than the dog's.
- Range issues: Ensure fingers are not covering the antenna. Operate away from electrical conductors like metal structures or radio towers.
