Table of contents

Quick guide from the manual

This document provides non-binding cleaning recommendations for Optibelt ELASTOMIT-R 116A and 122A X-ray protection curtains. Regular daily cleaning is essential to prevent microbiological growth. Always perform your own material tests before applying cleaning agents, as this guide does not replace local food industry hygiene regulations.

Cleaning procedures

The cleaning process follows a foam-based surface cleaning method. The curtain must be removed from the system before cleaning.

  1. Preparation: Remove the curtain from the X-ray detection system.
  2. Removal of coarse dirt: Use a puller or a soft, lint-free cloth (paper or microfiber) to collect and dispose of coarse residues.
  3. Rinsing: Rinse with water (50–60°C, approx. 5 bar) from top to bottom.
  4. Lathering: Apply Topactive 500 or 200 (3–5% concentration, 50–60°C, approx. 5 bar) for 20 minutes. Foam systematically from bottom to top.
  5. Rinsing: Rinse with water (50–60°C, approx. 5 bar) while wiping with a soft cloth to remove dissolved residues.
  6. Disinfection: Apply P3-topax 990 or Topactive OKTO (1–3% concentration, approx. 5 bar) for 10–20 minutes from top to bottom.
  7. Final Rinsing: Rinse thoroughly with water (50–60°C, 5 bar) until no visible residue remains.

Safety and maintenance

Workplace safety: Always wear required protective equipment. Never mix different cleaning agents or disinfectants. Do not use aggressive substances such as high-dose alcohols, acetone, benzine, or high-pressure cleaning equipment, as these can damage the material.
