Safety Information

  • The unit must be installed by a competent person.
  • Ensure there is sufficient space for the unit in the chosen location.
  • The unit cannot be wall-mounted upside down (electronic boards at the bottom) as this voids the warranty.
  • If installed in a kitchen above a cooker, it must be at least 1 metre above the hob and must not have a pullcord.
  • Ensure the external cowl is positioned at least 300mm away from open-flue appliances (2m recommended).
  • Do not remove or tamper with the electronic circuit boards.
  • The unit requires a continuous electrical power supply and should not be wired through a light switch.

Installation

  1. Isolate the mains supply before beginning.
  2. Loosen the two screws on the bottom and remove the front cover.
  3. Pull the central cartridge out from the rear carcass.
  4. Disconnect the green connector and set the cartridge aside.
  5. Connect the power cable and local isolator to the mains as per the wiring diagrams. Tighten the cable gland.
  6. Insert the rear carcass into the wall duct.
  7. Fix to the wall using the four provided screws and wall plugs.
  8. If using a backdraught shutter, insert it fully (do not use if ceiling mounted).
  9. Insert the provided caps into the fixing holes at the top of the rear carcass.
  10. Reconnect the green power connector and insert the central cartridge into the rear carcass.
  11. Adjust switches 1 and 2 on the central cartridge to set the duty (see Settings section).
  12. Apply the adhesive foam pad over the switches.
  13. Ensure the impeller is fitted correctly with both clips engaged.
  14. Replace the front cover, ensuring the pullcord sits in the slot, and tighten the screws.
  15. Reactivate the mains supply.

Wiring

All wiring must comply with current IET Wiring Regulations (BS7671 in the UK) or equivalent. The unit must be disconnected from the mains supply after installation via a suitable local isolator. The power cable must be the supplied flexible cable; using solid core cable will void the warranty. This product is not suitable for use with a Type AC RCD.

Settings

Adjust switches 1 and 2 on the central cartridge to configure the fan:

Switch settings for 230V and SELV models.
Switch settings for 230V and SELV models.
  • Switch 1: Left = Standard Trickle, Right = Trickle+
  • Switch 2 (230V): Left = Kitchen Duty, Right = Bathroom Duty
  • Switch 2 (SELV): Not in use (Bathroom Duty only)

Cleaning and Maintenance

Isolate the unit from the mains supply before cleaning. Remove the front cover, push the impeller clips towards the center, and pull the impeller out. Clean the front cover and impeller in warm soapy water and allow to dry. Do not use solvents or a dishwasher. Clip the impeller back into position, ensuring clips are engaged, and replace the front cover.

Technical Specifications

The unit is available in 230V-IPX4 and SELV-IPX5 variants. It features Intellitrac Technology for automatic humidity sensing. Airflow performance varies by setting (Trickle, Trickle+, Boost) and room type (Kitchen/Bathroom), ranging from 14 L/s to 55 L/s.
