Product Overview

The Gorenje KR 1800SDP and KR 1800SM are versatile contact grills designed for home use. They feature adjustable temperature control, a function light, and non-stick cooking plates that can be removed for easy cleaning. The grill is designed to be used in three distinct positions: toasting, baking, and open grilling.

Safety Instructions

• The appliance becomes very hot during operation. Always use the handle or heat-resistant oven mitts to avoid burns.
• Do not connect the grill to external timers or remote control systems.
• Children aged 8 and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, may use the appliance under supervision or if instructed on safe use and associated hazards.
• Keep the appliance and its power cord out of reach of children under 8 years old.
• Do not immerse the appliance in water.
• Always unplug the appliance after use, before cleaning, or before removing the grill plates.

Setup and First Use

Before the first use, ensure the appliance is placed on a firm, dry, and stable surface. Check that the voltage matches the rating plate and that the power outlet is grounded and rated for at least 10A. It is recommended to run the grill empty in the grilling position for at least 10 minutes to burn off any manufacturing residues; ensure the room is well-ventilated during this process.

Operation Modes

• Toasting Position: The upper plate is in a vertical position. Place food on the lower plate and close the upper plate on top. Do not press down with force.
• Baking Position: The upper plate is positioned vertically just above the lower plate. Suitable for baking or grilling food in a tray or directly on the lower plate.
• Open Grilling Position: Both plates are opened to a 180-degree or 90-degree angle, providing a larger surface area for grilling.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Always allow the appliance to cool down completely before cleaning. Remove the grill plates and soak them in warm water with a mild detergent to dissolve grease. The plates can be washed in hot water or a dishwasher. Clean the exterior of the appliance with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaning materials or sharp metal objects that could damage the non-stick coating.

Storage and Disposal

Store the appliance in a dry place, out of reach of children. When the appliance reaches the end of its service life, do not dispose of it with household waste. Hand it over to an official collection point for recycling in accordance with the WEEE directive to help protect the environment.
