The Greenworks 2000W Chainsaw is designed for cutting branches, trunks, logs, and beams. Before operating, ensure you are wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and heavy-duty gloves. Always check the chain tension and oil level before starting the tool.

Assembly

Follow these steps to assemble the chainsaw:

1. Unpack the device and ensure all components are present.
2. Loosen the chain cover by turning the knob counter-clockwise and remove the cover.
3. Place the chain drive links into the bar grooves, ensuring the cutters are facing the direction of chain rotation.
4. Position the chain loop around the sprocket and ensure the tensioning pin hole on the bar aligns with the bolt.
5. Reinstall the chain cover and tighten the knob.
6. Adjust the chain tension as described in the maintenance section.

Operation

To start the chainsaw:

• Press the lock-off button.
• While holding the lock-off button, press the trigger switch.
• Release the lock-off button to continue operation.

To stop the chainsaw, simply release the trigger switch. When felling trees, ensure the distance between the cutting area and the fall zone is at least twice the height of the tree. Always stand on the uphill side when cutting logs on a slope.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance is essential for safety and performance:

• Chain Tension: Check tension before every use. If the chain is loose, it can derail and cause serious injury. Adjust using the tensioning knob.
• Lubrication: Ensure the oil reservoir is filled. Use only oil intended for chainsaw bars and chains. Do not operate without sufficient lubrication.
• Sharpening: If the chain struggles to cut, sharpen the cutters using a 5/32 inch (4 mm) round file.
• Bar Maintenance: Periodically turn the bar to ensure symmetrical wear. Clean the bar grooves and oil holes.

Troubleshooting

If the chainsaw is not performing correctly, check the following:

• Chain overheating/smoking: Check oil level, clean the oil outlet, and ensure the chain is not over-tensioned.
• Motor runs but chain doesn't move: Check chain tension and inspect for damage to the bar or chain.
• Device won't start: Ensure both the lock-off button and the trigger switch are pressed simultaneously.
