This document provides installation and operating instructions for the Hansgrohe ShowerSelect Comfort S (15559XX0), E (15574XX0), and Q (15588XX0) thermostatic mixers. Installation Requirements
Before installation, inspect the product for transport damage. The pipes and fixture must be installed, flushed, and tested according to applicable standards. If using power tools, wear safety glasses and disconnect the power supply after use. The unit must be mounted on a finished, waterproofed wall surface.
Operation and Adjustment
Safety Function: The desired maximum temperature (e.g., 42°C) can be pre-set using the safety function. If a higher temperature is required, the safety stop can be overridden by depressing the safety button.
Temperature Adjustment: After installation, the output temperature must be checked. If the measured output temperature differs from the set temperature, a correction is necessary. Follow the adjustment steps provided in the assembly diagrams.
Maintenance
- Check Valves: Must be checked regularly according to EN 806-5 (at least once a year).
- Thermostat Care: To ensure smooth operation, periodically turn the thermostat from total hot to total cold.
- Cleaning: Do not use silicone containing acetic acid. Refer to the cleaning recommendations provided by Hansgrohe.
Troubleshooting
- Insufficient water: Check supply pressure and clean the regulator filter or shower filter seal.
- Crossflow: Clean or exchange the backflow preventer cartridge.
- Temperature mismatch: Adjust the thermostat or increase hot water temperature to 42°C - 60°C.
- Temperature regulation not possible: Exchange the thermo cartridge or check if the basic body is connected correctly (cold right, hot left).
- Safety stop button not operating: Clean the spring or button and grease lightly.
Technical Data
Operating pressure is max. 1 MPa (recommended 0.1 - 0.5 MPa). Hot water temperature is max. 60°C. Thermal disinfection is possible at 70°C for 4 minutes. The product features safety against backflow.

Common problems
Insufficient water flow
Check supply pressure, clean the regulator filter in front of the mixer, and clean the shower filter seal.
Crossflow (hot water in cold pipe or vice versa)
Clean or exchange the backflow preventer cartridge.
Output temperature does not match set temperature
Adjust the thermostat or increase the hot water supply temperature to between 42°C and 60°C.
Temperature regulation not possible
Exchange the thermo cartridge or check if the basic body was installed with 180° rotation.
Safety stop button not operating
Clean the spring or button and grease lightly; replace the handle if necessary.
Before use
- Inspect the product for transport damage.
- Flush the pipes and fixture according to applicable standards.
- Ensure hot and cold water supplies have equal pressure.
- Check for hidden pipes and cables in the wall before drilling.
- Verify that the wall surface is finished and waterproofed.
- Ensure the water supply system (Gas boiler, Unvented, or Pumped) is compatible.
