This document provides essential information for the installation and operation of the Hansgrohe RainSelect Thermostat. Always ensure the product is installed according to local plumbing codes and by qualified personnel.
Safety notes
- Wear gloves during installation to prevent crushing and cutting injuries.
- The product must only be used for bathing, hygienic, and body cleaning purposes.
- Children and adults with physical, mental, or sensory impairments must not use the product without supervision.
- Persons under the influence of alcohol or drugs are prohibited from using the product.
- Large pressure differences between hot and cold water supplies must be balanced.
Installation instructions




- Prior to installation, inspect the product for transport damages.
- Pipes and the fixture must be installed, flushed, and tested according to applicable standards.
- Do not use silicone containing acetic acid.

- Operating pressure: max. 1 MPa
- Recommended operating pressure: 0.1 - 0.5 MPa
- Test pressure: 1.6 MPa
- Hot water temperature: max. 60°C
- Thermal disinfection: 70°C / 4 min
- Connections: Cold right, hot left
Safety function and adjustment
The desired maximum temperature (e.g., max. 42°C) can be pre-set using the safety function. After installation, the output temperature of the thermostat must be checked. A correction is necessary if the temperature measured at the output differs from the temperature set on the thermostat.

Maintenance

- Check valves must be checked regularly according to EN 806-5 (at least once a year).
- To guarantee the smooth running of the thermostat, it is necessary from time to time to turn the thermostat from total hot to total cold.
Troubleshooting
If you experience issues, refer to the following:
- Insufficient water: Check supply pressure, clean filters in front of the mixer and on the MTC-thermo cartridge, clean shower filter seal.
- Crossflow: Clean or exchange backflow preventers.
- Temperature mismatch: Adjust thermostat, increase hot water temperature to 42°C - 60°C.
- Temperature regulation not possible: Thermo cartridge is calcified; exchange the cartridge.
- Safety stop button not operating: Clean spring/button, exchange if necessary.
- Valve stiff or shower drips: Exchange Select stop valve DN9.
