The Hilti NCT IS 025-A22 is a cordless, battery-powered electro-hydraulic cutting tool designed for cutting copper, aluminum, and steel cables (e.g., ACSR). Operation
Battery usage: Use only Hilti B 22 series Li-ion batteries. Charge fully before first use. Ensure the battery engages with an audible click.
Cutting procedure:
- Rotate the cutting head to the desired position.
- Place the cable into the cutting head, ensuring it is fully inserted.
- Press and hold the control switch until the cutting head releases pressure (indicated by an audible pop).
- The tool returns to its initial position automatically.
Cold weather operation: If the hydraulic oil is thick due to cold, perform 5-10 empty pressing operations to warm up the tool.
Maintenance
Always remove the battery before maintenance. Clean the tool with a slightly damp cloth; do not use silicone-based cleaning agents. Keep air vents clean with a dry, soft brush. If the tool shows signs of damage or malfunction, contact Hilti Service immediately.
Safety
Always wear protective glasses. Do not use the tool in heavy rain or underwater. After approximately 100 consecutive cuts, allow the tool to cool down for 15 minutes to prevent overheating. Never use the battery as a striking tool.

Common problems
Battery LEDs do not light up
Ensure the battery is correctly inserted until it clicks, or charge the battery if discharged.
Red LED lights continuously with a warning tone
Indicates a technical problem. Contact Hilti Service.
Tool overheated (Red LED lights briefly)
Allow the tool to cool down.
Battery runs down faster than usual
Very low ambient temperature; allow the battery to warm up slowly to room temperature.
Before use
- Ensure the tool is switched off before inserting the battery.
- Check that battery contacts are clean and free of foreign matter.
- Verify the battery is fully charged.
- Ensure the cutting head is in the desired position.
- Confirm the cable is fully inserted into the cutting head.
