Quick guide from the manual
The Hilti NCT IS 045-A22 is a cordless, electro-hydraulic cutting tool designed for cutting copper, aluminum, and steel cables (e.g., ACSR). Before use, ensure all live cables in the work area are de-energized or appropriate safety precautions are taken.

Device Overview
The tool features a cutting head, a manual piston return switch, a housing, a maintenance/fault indicator (red LED), a battery release button, a battery, slots for a Hilti retaining strap, a white LED work light, and a control switch.
Operation
To operate the tool, rotate the cutting head to the desired position, place the cable into the head, and press the control switch. Keep the switch pressed until the pressure relief occurs, indicated by a distinct 'pop' sound. The tool will automatically return to its initial position after the cut. For cutting connected cables, remove the locking pin, flip the head up, place the tool around the cable, flip the head down, and lock it with the pin before cutting.
Maintenance and Care
Always remove the battery before performing any maintenance. Clean the tool with a slightly damp cloth, avoiding silicone-based cleaners. Regularly check all visible parts for damage and ensure controls function correctly. Use only genuine Hilti spare parts and consumables.
Safety
The tool is for professional use only. Always wear personal protective equipment, including eye protection. Do not use the tool in heavy rain or underwater. If the tool overheats after approximately 100 consecutive cuts, allow it to cool for about 15 minutes.
Troubleshooting
If the tool is not working, check if the battery is fully inserted, charged, or at the correct temperature. If the red LED lights up continuously with a warning tone, a technical problem may exist; contact Hilti Service. If the tool overheats, allow it to cool down.
