Quick guide from the manual
This document provides essential installation and maintenance procedures for Husky DEF Spout Assemblies. Users must adhere to all safety warnings, including fire and electric shock prevention. Any failure during testing or inspection requires immediate equipment replacement or removal from service.
Installation Instructions
- Remove the spout lock nut and the existing spout.
- Remove and discard the old spout seal.
- Place the new spout seal into the nozzle body and push inward until it is fully seated in the groove.
- Insert the new spout into the body, ensuring the vent tube is correctly positioned in the port.
- While holding the spout in proper alignment, tighten the spout lock nut firmly to approximately 35 - 60 lbf-ft (47 - 81 N-m). Do not overtighten.
- Verify that the new spout is properly aligned.
- Test the nozzle for automatic shut-off according to the manufacturer's instructions provided with the nozzle.
- Pressurize the system and visually check for leaks.
- Test the nozzle for proper automatic shut-off between 5 - 10 gpm (18.9 - 37.9 Lpm).
Testing, Maintenance, and Inspection
Regular maintenance is required to ensure safe operation:
- Daily: Check for leaks, stains, and loose spouts.
- Monthly: Check for crystallization.
- Annually: Check for overall damage.
Clean or rinse exterior surfaces of DEF products only with deionized water. All maintenance and inspection activities must be logged using the serial number of the individual product.
Safety Warnings
Always adhere to installation and usage instructions. Improper use may result in injury, damage, or hazardous spills. Key safety requirements include:
- Never use thread sealant (Teflon tape, anti-seize, or any other sealant).
- Always discharge static electricity before using or servicing equipment by touching a metal part of the dispenser.
- Never smoke or use sparking/flaming devices within 20 ft (6.1 m) of dispensers.
- Never use power tools near dispensers or during installation.
- Always use DEF compatible oil to lubricate seals.
- Always place containers on the ground before filling.
Warranty
Husky Corporation provides a warranty for products proven to be defective in material or workmanship. Vapor products are covered for one year from installation or 15 months from the manufacture date, whichever occurs first. Conventional products are covered for one year from the manufacture date.
